Welcome to a new edition of the ADC Consulting Newsletter! As we prepare for the arrival of spring and the agricultural new year, we invite you to reflect with us on our journey through 2025 and what’s ahead for 2026.

Without mincing words, 2025 was a year filled with tremendous challenges and uncertainty. We navigated the unrelenting rise of fascism in the U.S. and continue to contend with its impact on our families, neighbors, and the countless artists, culture bearers, arts workers, and organizations that make up our cultural community.
At the same time, it was a year filled with solidarity and meaningful collaboration. In 2025 we celebrated our third year in business, worked with incredible organizations, developed new tools for the sector, and grew the ADC Consulting family.
Some client highlights include:
Celebrating 50 years of Abrons Arts Center through the development of their new strategic plan including updated mission, vision and values statements;
Supporting the evolution of Camille A. Brown and Dancers through an organizational audit process;
Launching our newest service, Interim Management Services, to strengthen organizations going through sustained growth and change, like Kinetic Light; and
Curating & hosting conversations on the future of performing arts funding at APAP 2025 conference and New York Grantmakers in the Arts.
In response to the impact of this presidential administration’s policies we:
Hosted funder and national policy briefs and created a new open-source educational tool: Policy Literacy for the Creative Sector;
Continued our research and development of a tech guide aimed at supporting individuals and small businesses/organizations on how to engage in more ethical use of tech technological tools (coming soon!);
Coordinated the donations and purchase of 100+ e-sim cards for Palestinians in Gaza (ongoing); and
Participated in local organizing efforts to support our families and neighbors in response to ICE’s presence in our cities.

What’s New in 2026: Announcing Phase 2 National Scan
After over a year hiatus and with the generous support of the Ford Foundation, we are excited to announce the launch of Phase 2 National Scan of Understanding Arts Service Organizations in a Changing Arts Ecosystem.
This multi-phase research study aims to understand the role, impact, and ongoing evolution of arts service, intermediary, and regranting organizations in the United States.
Phase 1 Background Research took place from May 2023 to October 2024 and concluded with the publication of findings and the National ASO List & Data Tool, the first open-source database on arts service organizations in the United States. Phase 2 National Scan will gather primary data through a national survey and focus groups to better understand the condition and characteristics of ASOs today.
