Caitlin Strokosch has spent her career in arts service organizations at the intersection of individual artists, community-based arts organizations, advocacy, and equity. Since 2017 she has served as President & CEO of the National Performance Network (NPN), a hybrid service organization, grantmaker, and movement-builder that aims to advance racial and cultural justice in the arts, build artists’ power, and work toward systems change in arts and philanthropy. Previously, Caitlin worked at the Artist Communities Alliance – an international association of artist residency centers – from 2002 to 2016, where, as Executive Director, she was instrumental in creating the Artist Communities division at the National Endowment for the Arts in 2008. As a member of the board of directors of Grantmakers in the Arts from 2014 to 2020, she served on the Racial Equity, Support for Individual Artists, and Finance committees. She currently serves on the board of the Performing Arts Alliance and Louisiana Partnership for the Arts and on the advisory committees of Transcultural Exchange. Caitlin is a frequent speaker, writer, and facilitator on issues of cultural policy, racial equity, and economic justice for artists. She has a BA in music performance from Columbia College Chicago and a Master’s in musicology from Roosevelt University, where her research focused on music as a tool for building communities of resistance.
